Customized Tape Solutions for Industrial Applications

Design adhesive tapes based on your materials, bonding surfaces, automation lines, and performance requirements.

Basic Structure of Industrial Adhesive Tapes

Tapes are usually combined into 3 parts: Adhesive, Substrate, and Release Liner.

Adhesives: Deciding the core key performance indicators, the tack, shear strength, and temperature resistance, are always divided into 2 types(Pressure Sensitive Adhesive, Non-PSA)

Backing Material: Tape Backing is the main body of the structure, determining its strength, toughness, and abrasion resistance. It can also offer additional tape features, such as waterproofing, heat resistance, insulation, conductivity, corrosion resistance, thermal management, breathability, and low-temperature resistance.

Release Liner: Protecting the adhesive from contamination or premature bonding (sticking) before use. Especially for double-sided tape, ensure it unwinds smoothly from the roll.

Surface treatment(Optional):  Doing treatments on the surfaces of backing materials, increasing the toughness of tape surfaces. Strengthen adhesion between the backing and bonded materials.

Structure 1: Adhesive Transfer Tape

This structure makes a  special double-sided tape, coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive directly on the release liner. Its thickness can be customized from 0.05mm to 0.13mm. Temperature can withstand 150℃.

Excellent for precision die-cutting, and can be designed into complex custom shapes. This tape structure performs well in industries such as precision electronics and medical.

Structure 2: Self-Wound Tape

This structure is not paired with a release liner; the backing is specially treated (e.g., coated with a release material). This treatment makes the tape usable without permanently bonding to the backing layer.

This structural design reduces the cost of the release liner and enables smooth unwinding, large-area, and high-speed application. Such as Logistics & Packaging, Electrical & Electronics, Automotive & Aerospace.

Structure 3: Single-Coated Tapes and Labels

The most basic and normal structural type in the tape industry, it can offer a perfect combination for special substrate applications and bonding abilities. Its backing material always provides physical and chemical features such as abrasion resistance, electrical conductivity & insulation, and warning colors for safety marking.

Sturucture 4: Double-sided Tapes

This kind of structure can be concluded as five layers, three components. Unlike adhesive transfer tapes, it uses a carrier as support material. Which means it has an obvious advantage in physical performance and complex applications. Since this structure can be designed to include 2 adhesive layers with totally different adhesives, it can be customized to bond surfaces made of different materials.

Why Customized Tape Solutions Are Needed

The reason for customized tapes is that standard dimensions cannot meet all the requirements you might need: specific performance for industry, brand recognition, and protection. Most importantly, customized tapes can fit your automated production request. They can be precisely slitted to avoid secondary processing, help you improve production efficiency, and reduce time costs.

Meanwhile, customized tapes can offer specific performance requirements of certain industries, such as ultra-heat resistance, waterproofing, electrical insulation, conductivity, construction, and strong structural bonding.  Different backing materials and adhesives need to be selected for applying surfaces made of metal, glass, plastic, etc.

Regular-sized tapes might not suit your automated production lines. Since automated production lines usually require specific lengths and widths to ensure smooth manufacturing. Through this action, you can get lower costs, higher manufacturing efficiency, and more standardized quality control. Avoiding material waste and getting a more controllable manufacturing process.

We can also offer logo printing and help you build brand recognition, since terminal markets place more trust in brands they are familiar with. Capture market share, rapidly establish credibility, and build emotional resonance and lasting memory with consumers.
